The main goal of the Back to School project was to create innovative tools that can be used by teachers in their work with hospitalized students and students returning to school after hospitalization.
The international research carried out as part of the project was used to create an optimal model of work with young people.
By achieving specific goals and implementing the planned results of the research, the authors of the project attempted to equalize the chances of children and adolescents studying in hospital schools. The created materials are aimed at facilitating the adaptation of these students to the school environment and counteracting the social and educational exclusion of students during and after the illness.
As part of the project, a quantitative study was carried out on a group of 247 teachers, based on a questionnaire created in cooperation with teachers, and qualitative research on a total group of 45 teachers from three countries.
The results of the study were analyzed by experts from three countries and based on them, a study report describing its results was prepared.
The study served as the basis for the creation of guides for teachers from hospital schools and public schools.
A series of tutorials in the form of short video animations was also created, in which the main problems of educating chronically ill students are presented.
